Robert Genco, Owner
My 20 years in natural retail and consumer goods crosses many categories and channels – personal care, supplements, herbals, wine and spirits. This provides a deep understanding of how consumers think about natural products and what drives their purchasing decisions. My experience includes field sales, national sales management, brand consulting, and working as the National Educator and spokesperson for the original Biodynamic mainstay, Weleda.
Brand story-telling, immersive and memorable events, training and education, and brand advocacy are among the keys to my approach. I help to make the complex, simple to understand, and to inspire retailers and salespeople with brand touchpoints that help them translate your “why” to their own customers. Nothing makes me happier than meeting someone years after an event and having them tell me why they still love Dr. Hauschka or Weleda or any of the other brands I've represented. That’s when I know I’ve done my job well.
I have also pioneered entirely new categories; for example, helping build the nation's first retail CBD brand (+PlusCBD) from 0 stores/$0 to wide distribution and $20 million+ in 3 years. This required constant advocacy and training to overcome questions about legality and efficacy, and introduced this then-novel ingredient to an entire new market segment. I have also helped grow mature brands like Weleda and Gaia Herbs, driving 20%+ YOY growth in key segments despite apparent market saturation.
Ten years of management consulting experience pre-dates my retail career and still informs my methods and approach. Working backward from the target consumer, I help brands simplify the sales, promotional, and education process to deliver cleaner and clearer messaging.
